This is their website chat: "Woodwife are a new atmospheric folk band with deep roots in gypsy storytelling and mythical lore. Sprouting forth from Glasgow, they hope to seduce you with baroque beats and gnarled guitars."
Prepare to be seduced. Their hair alone will probably do it. Also you can follow them on Facebook here.
Rockin' Roy and I went to Pintos by Central Station for tea the other night ahead of Woodwife's gig at the Garage. For the uninitiated it's essentially the same concept as Subway but with much better Mexican food. I had a satisfyingly messy chicken quesadilla and Rockin' Roy had an infeasibly large pulled pork burrito. Both were pretty good. It's a nice clean quick place to eat but I wasn't mad keen on the chairs - I advise you to head for the comfy wall seats.
