Hopefully there will be some videos coming soon of the gig. The men of LHOS like to rock out. They've got a shambolic desert rock quality and always have more fun on stage than everyone else in the venue combined. LHOS are starting to gather a decent fan following and will be playing more gigs as well as the Heavy Metal Buffet in Shetland later this year.
Roy, Doug (guitar) and Jordan (bass) are the type of folk who are always ready to muck in at a gig - whether its helping to move equipment or just watch and support the other bands, they are always right in about it and always have a laugh without any posturing, ego or rivalry. This is one of the reasons aside from the music that the people love them. Also they have good stage banter which is often a more challenging thing to do than write the actual songs.
It was exciting to see them do their stuff in the same venue as I've seen bands including Black Rebel Motorcyle Club, Nada Surf, Spinerette, Sucioperro, Deap Vally (and a bunch of others I'd need to check my ticket scrapbook to name) play.
As usual, even though I've been working and going out loads I've still managed to watch an unhealthy level of television. Some of my current favourite shows include historical drama Vikings and offbeat comedy Broad City. BC is about the lives of two 20 something besties in New York and it is hilarious. I've been enjoying Lost Girl on Netflix. I'm also awaiting the return of Orphan Black and Orange is the New Black.
And of course, Game of Thrones...
