But let's start a bit earlier than my birthday as I haven't blogged in ages and have plenty to tell about February!
Jubilant Judy and I also attended the GFT for a special showing of the Game of Thrones episode 'Blackwater' as part of the Glasgow Film Festival. Actor Rory McCann, also known as Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane', was there to do a Q & A session afterwards. Blackwater is a spectaular episode of the HBO show and has a real cinematic style to it so fitted perfectly in the silver screen setting. Rory was very funny and warm when answering questions and gave away his very own copy of A Song of Fire and Ice, the book upon which the Game of Thrones tv show is based, which was signed by the author George R.R. Martin to a lady sitting in a seat with a lucky number. The book was a bit 'well loved' as Rory had taken it camping. It appeared to be a fairly international audience but as always the funniest questions came from the Glaswegians.
On the Saturday Rockin' Roy and I went to the beautific Isle of Arran for an overnight stay at the Douglas Hotel.
This week Rockin' Roy and I went to the Southside's only Mexican resturant, Nachos. With big murals on the walls and an extensive menu Nachos is pretty welcoming. The food was superb with generous portions. I had the chicken in a cream tequila sauce. I think next time I would go for the tapas as the mains are very filling. The only downpoint I found was the lighting is a little off. There are spotlights in the ceiling which is fine but it feels like it could do with more low level soft lighting spread around.
I also visited the Tiki Bar & Kitch Inn with a few friends for a late birthday dinner, I love the Tiki Bar and their cocktails! I wrote a wee review for TopTable about it.
And so wraps this post - next blog will be all about Gatsby Club!
