The experience involves getting to explore the gardens by night. The evening we went was particularly FREEZING. Like, I couldn't even take my Tauntaun. Important note - there are toilets by the entrance and the cafe is open during the evening.
Apparently there are Fire Performers which may go some way to heating you up but we missed them.
Here's the Electric Gardens in action -
The kids there seemed to love it and there are lots of staff walking about if you need any advice or help. It is a fantastic opportunity to view the gardens in a way you wouldn't normally get to experience.
My personal feeling was that it should be a kind of twisted Alice in Wonderland by Night experience with more weird fantastical things to take part in. To be fair my first thought on entering the Botanics at Night was to start writing an Amicus Horror Productions style script for a creepy nightmarescape set in the Botanical Gardens... so this tells you where my head is at more generally. In fact I probably got a little too excited about the whole horror script thing and there's a good chance I will write it at some stage. You can all look forward to that...
The Electric Gardens is on until 15th February with dry frosty nights predicted. Buy tickets here.
