It's winter time here in the UK though we're still awiting the big freeze we all know is coming. That means we've just had Halloween - props to my gal pal Kitsch Kat for her Tippy Hendron in 'The Birds' costume. She used a cute pink and turquoise 60s suit and online ordered costume crows (I saw similar ones in Asda this year too) and some great glam but creepy make up.
And now we're into the Christmas slalom. Christmas for me is all about food and decorations and hopefully some home made gifts. This year I'm attempting to make some new craft things so we'll see how that goes.
Granny Would be Proud returns this Sunday at Hillhead Bookclub.
Christmas comes to Ashton Lane in both fairs and dining and the showing of 'It's a Wonderful life' while you eat - get along there this December to soak up the festive fever.
Gin in Teacups is a new event on Glasgows vintage calendar, happening at Chambre 69, Stock Exchange House on Sat 3rd &Sun 4th December.
And back to my other favourite topic - weddings!
Love My Dress says "OK, so I'd like to propose that over the next few weeks and months, my readers submit scans of real wedding photographs from over the past 100 years or so. It might be an image of your parents on their wedding day, or your Grandparents, or your Great Aunt Hilda! It might even be of you on your wedding day back in the early 2000's or 1990's or it could be a family photograph of your Great Great Grandparenst that you have been treasuring for years..."
What they have so far looks great!
The Hidden Lane Tea Rooms in Glasgow have uploaded some tasty looking photos of their wedding cakes to their facebook. YUM YUM YUM! They also do vintage hen parties which you can find details of on their website.
