I didn't have a mask to hand nor the money and time to buy one so I made one - anyone who wasn't wearing a mask was punished with chili infused vodka which had been marinating for over a week.
I used a pair of sunglasses to get the shape and size and drew a design onto a cereal box. Then I wound material around the frame, no glue or staples just tied then bound with strips of material - tried to avoid putting pointy stuff near the face.
The material was leftover from an elaborate historical Halloween costume I made last year but didn't have the bottle to wear - at least now I'll have a mask to match if I ever do! I made a cut into an elastic hairband and tied it to the edges then added a pair of old earrings to the sides. I bent the ear links into the earring design to secure them which worked pretty well. It took about 15 minutes and looked pretty effective in the end. I've had these earrings for ages but they are too heavy to wear so I'm glad I found a use for them.
This blog also has to include a shout out to all the fruit at the party - my girl went to town on fruit!
I recently got a couple of dresses on the interweb sales - a lovely 50's style palm tree print from Collectif and a pretty pale green beaded flared dress from Joe Browns. I love Collectif, they always deliver really quickly and the clothes are great quality. They have designs which suit bustier women too which is magic. Joe Browns was recommended to me by a friend several years ago but this is the first time I bought anything from them, also pretty quick delivery and good quality. I don't have any photos of them yet but I'll try to remember to post them soon.
On Friday night I went to Rockus bar in Finnieston - free AC/DC pinball, free rock jukebox and Zombeer (or Zombeir- I'm not sure on the name) on tap. Friendly service and excellent music - definitely worth a look if you are of the rock persuasion.
Rounding off the weekend of fun is tonight's visit to the o2abc to see the Mighty Diamonds play - good times!
